March 15, 2015 Lesson 6 Relief Society

President Benson said that he has not had a time in his life, when he did not know the Jesus was his Lord and Savior. Christ is the “Stream that irrigates our life”. He is the number one influence in the world for good in all our lives. We can know this about Him:
  1. Jesus came to earth to do the Father’s will.
  2. He came with the knowledge that He would bare the burdens of our sins.
  3. He knew He would be lifted up upon the cross.
  4. He was born to be the savior and redeemer of all mankind.
  5. He was able to accomplish his mission because He was the son of God, and He possessed the power of God.
  6. He was willing to do this because He loves us unconditionally.
As long as we are willing to carry on His example of love and helping others, His influence will continue.
As we learn to live a life that is made up of understanding, and that we need to be valiant in our testimony, able to express it to others, we will realize it is a work in progress our entire lives. Jesus is the “why” we can do the things we do. Showing this is testifying of Him. Knowing of the Divine nature of His birth and purpose and His divine nature of His death and resurrection, along with the knowledge that He is the promised Messiah, provides a testimony for us each day. We can learn the laws of the gospel that He gave us and know that they are true. We prove this by doing the will of the Father and keeping His commandments. L
If you believe these things, then it is important that we try to do them. So with a happy disposition we can go forward, and live the life that the Savior wants us to live. Having a positive attitude would keep our testimony matching what the Lord would hope for us. The gospel offers the knowledge of those things we can obtain, with the guidance of the Holy Ghost. We can keep our testimony viable by seeking to be of good cheer, no matter what life brings to us. Unless we follow His teachings, we do not demonstrate faith in Him.
When there are times that we have feeling of a dark cloud about us, that is the very time we need to draw closer to our Savior so that feeling is taken away. Only our faith can help us see clearly a path to a stronger knowledge of Him. Jesus is the Light and has power to lift all our burdens if we use the testimony we have developed in our lives. Seek Him no matter what trials may come, and let His atonement lift you, so in your heart you know He is always there. We grow when we strive to be like Jesus Christ.
We can choose every day to be like Christ. Choose will each day to be on His side. Ask each day, “Lord what would thou have me do”?
